A few quick notes from Government Relations:
1) Are you interested in helping keep the membership organized and informed about legislative issues? Your involvement could help make a difference to our profession. Please contact me to join the Government Relations Committee.
2) Please mark you calendar for January 27th! This is the date for Day on the Hill. Join us in Pierre for a chance to network with our legislators and to observe the system at work. More information will be coming.
3) We are looking for people who have received or are working on their national certification as a school counselor through either NBCC or NBPTS. Please email me so I can visit with you about the process. We aren't sure if there will be legislation this year extending the $10,000 stipend for nationally certified school counselors to those certified by NBCC. However, we would like to be prepared if this opportunity presents itself.
